SVG Gospel Fest was established in April 2003 to develop gospel expressions and provide greater exposure for gospel artistes in SVG GOSPEL FEST 2008 St. Vincent and the Grenadines while creating a spiritual awareness of God and promoting a healthier lifestyle through the Gospel. The overall aim is to always bring honor and Glory to the Most High God. This festival has become a major item on the Nation's Calendar. The main aim of the festival, which is held annually in April, is to promote a spiritual awareness of God while exposing the talents of gospel artistes in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Shows are held around the country in song, dance, drama and poetry crossing all religious and denominational barriers. With inspiring gospel messages rendered in rhythms of reggae, soca, soul and even hip-hop. Interest in the event has been phenomenal. International artistes such as Papa San and Stitchie of Jamaica, Delano Primus of Trinidad,Bridget Blucher, Nicole Ballisingh have ministered. The festival climaxes with two nights of showcases the final Saturday and Sunday nights in April 2007 featuring the best of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Anthony "Papa Das" Glasgow is a Vincentian residing in Tortola, BVI. Captured the junior and senior calypso crowns in SVG several times. Now a born again believer and an anointed servant of Christ. His latest album Under the Blood is gaining popularity throughout the Caribbean.(Searchlight article)
